TEENS ACTING IN ENGLISH
Acting for english speaking teenagers
Acting classes for young teenagers at MY STAGE are designed for those who have always loved acting and already have some experience performing on stage as well as those who always wanted to try it but never had an opportunity. We develop special programs for the children of foreign nationals who happen to live in Zagreb temporarily as well as those teenagers who are preparing for auditions at acting schools outside of Croatia.
From strengthening the fundamental concepts and acting skills, to diction, body work and improvisations, we cover all areas of acting craft and complete the program with a short end-of-year production on stage.
Classes are taught in fun and creative environment with the focus on individual creativity and freedom of expression. We are all about unlocking your potential by guiding you in the right direction and letting you learn through your own experiences.

Thirteen 2h sessions, Saturdays, 10am - 12pm
In this 13 week course we will strengthen the fundamental acting and communication skills. Each class comprises of physical and vocal warm ups, body relaxation and coordination, acting exercises and script work.
We will learn how to shake off everyday life problems when we enter the class, and prepare our bodies and minds for acting. We will practice physical and mental relaxation and encourage our students to come up with creative solutions in our work.
The atmosphere is supportive and focus is on allowing students to be creative.

Thirteen 2 hour sessions, Saturdays, 10am- 12pm
In these twelve weeks we will explore the different ways of conveying a message from stage to the audience.
The course will focus on different acting skills. We will work on voice and body as well as incorporate lots of improvisations and exercises for freeing your inner actor and acquiring confidence on stage.

There will be sessions focusing on voice and diction as well as those that will focus on the body of an actor, and movement on stage. In acting we use our body, voice, mind and imagination.
Students will explore the questions: What are all the ways we can use our body when acting? What does your body posture say about you? How does your body change when you are tired, happy, sad, excited? How about your facial expressions?
In vocal work, we will focus on diction, speaking on stage, presenting, developing the students' ability to speak on stage without unnecessary tension.
Students will learn how to relax before a speech, how to extract the most important message they want to convey, how to speak clearly, use an appropriate voice, how to adjust the strength of the voice and their breathing.
At the end of the 13 week course the students will receive written evaluations.

Creating a Character - scripted scene work
Eight 2hour sessions, Saturdays, 10am- 12pm
In this 8 week course students will put together everything learned throughout the year and apply it on scripted scene work.
We will learn the basics of character creation for stage performances.
Who is that person I am portraying? How old? What does he or she look like? How can I change my voice and body to make it more believable in the character? What would he or she do in given situation?
Questions like these help us analyze and create a character but they also sharpen our understanding of the world around us and develop empathy and tolerance, extremely important life-long skills that the children will use in everyday life.
We will perform the end-of -year production on stage. Written evaluations will be issued at the end of the course.
